Good Morning...

I"m sitting out on Jill's lovely porch and it's cool this morning so we're lovin' it.  It's Jill, Jules, Janet and I so far..the young un's are still asleep.  It's so nice that we think we'll scrap out here today.  Here's a pic of her backyard and porch...IMG_0120
That's Mary-Mary standing outside.
Jill's house is so neat and she had two signs waiting for us when we arrived, one just for me!

Hanging out in the upstairs family room and pretty tired after our day....

This morning, later on, we'll be going back to the airport to pick up the other 3 girls and then another day for adventure!

Hello from Apex, NC..the Peak of Good living

It says that on the water tower!  Jill's house is wonderful and we've had a ball today.  We just got home from a scrumptious Italian dinner which deserves a post by itself.  Suffice to say, we're all stuffed!

We had a good flight coming up today and when we got to the airport, Jill met us with these cute flower bouquets and THIS...

We all screamed when we saw it, lol!  It was so much fun riding in it.  Here's the group that came in today..DSC08272
L to R, Jules, Janet, me, Jill, Michele, Teri and Mary.  A few minutes later, Jayne came in and we picked her up amid many laughs..DSC08293

After picking us up, we headed to Archivers and had a ton of fun there, mucho dollaros spent by all...DSC08297
Then we went to lunch at this neat place that served bison burgers that were delish!

After lunch we went to the neatest store which we don't have at home, Swoozie's..loved it...DSC08311
Got some cute things there including a little something for my cruise mates!
We then came home to Jill's beautiful house and those pics are on my other camera which I'll show you tomorrow.  She had this sign out for us girls plus another one just for me!  Too funny.

Barb, Gerri Anne and Sonia come in tomorrow and more fun awaits us for sure!
To be continued and by the way, it's so nice and pleasant outside here, no mugginess and it's wonderful!

Good early Friday Morning

I set two alarms to be sure I was up this morning.  Rude awakening when they went off! But need to shower, wash my hair, finish packing, etc. and take off for airport this morning.  Rumor is that Jill is having something special there to pick us all up so can't wait to see!  Pictures to follow for sure!  Off to NC I go!

It's Raining, it's Pouring...

I have some errands to run but it's pouring again so I'll wait a bit.  Need to pick up a prescription and get some money for the trip this weekend.

We've had some pretty heavy duty storms this afternoon, lots of thunder and lightning of course.  Thank goodness it held off until after the bug guys were here to do their thing.  They told me I was in the top 3 WORSE infestations of crazy ants that they've seen so far!  Great.  These are small ants that don't bit but drive you crazy because they're everywhere it seems.  They put out baits and sprayed their all natural boric stuff all over outside and inside and the best thing is, it's fine around humans and animals since it's all natural.  They will come back in about 10 days and then whenever I see anything, for a year.  He told me they'd definitely get all the suckers though and I'm so glad.  Another good company I got off of Angie's List which I've used for 4-5 years.  Love that list and have found electricians, plumbers, tree trimmers, garage door specialists and now pest control people.  You can read reviews from other people and then pick who you want from the list and there's always a lot of selection too.  Love Angie's.  They should pay me for advertising them, lol.

I have a couple of things to iron tonight and then I'll be packed and ready to leave early tomorrow morning.  I'll go around 7:30 as I have to park my car in the long term lot.  I get back Sunday night and Lorrie will be here with the pups for me again.

Really looking forward to being with everyone this weekend- Jane, Teri, Jules, Michele, Mary, Sonia, Gerri Anne, Barb and I'm not sure who else.  Linda couldn't come as she had a prior commitment and we all will miss her terribly!

Kath is sending me flight info for a trip to Arkansas also and I hope to go up and see her in November or maybe October even.

Okay, gotta make a run for it as the rain has slacked off....

Thursday...

Another leisurely getting up, getting to love this.  I wonder if I'll end up waking up early like I used to?  I used to wake up before my alarm would go off every morning.  I still get up around 6 to let Max out for a minute.  Mudgy will sleep in until you make him go out, lol.

I'm looking at the weather outside and it's not looking good.  Normally, I could care less but I have the bug guy coming at noon and want him to be able to do his thing.  If it's raining, he can still do inside I hope.  I went with an all-natural pesticide because of the animals so think it will be better overall.

I've got to hit the grocery store today and pack but that shouldn't take long.  Let's see, who all is going tomorrow with me- Mary-Mary, Michele, Jules, Teri, Jayne coming in from the panhandle, Barb, Sonia and GA coming in Saturday from Ft. Myers...I'm missing someone??

Okay, off to eat some breakfast!

Preparation...

no, not Preparation 8, at least not yet.  Preparation for my European Trip is underway.  I started on the album for it a few weeks ago and am really liking the way it's turning out so far.  I LOVE Graphic 45 products and am using a lot of it on the allbum.  The album itself, is Making Memories, 3-ring, which I also love.  I am using a chipboard album I had around, for some of the inserts too.  Just having fun with it.  Here's the covers..

IMG_4151

I made a collage of the graphic 45 papers.  The inside inserts look like this..

IMG_4153

Can't wait to fill it up with my photos!  I was looking at my first European trip album back in 2002 and there's quite a difference, lol!  I'll take some pics of that later so you can see.  I made it when I first started scrapbooking, so quite the novice look.

It started pouring here in the last hour or so but the sun has been still shining for most of it.  The radar looks awful but we really haven't had any storms.  If you looked just at the radar, you'd think we were under terrific storms.  Wierd.

Had a good visit today with my favorite Dr. in the whole world, Dr. Hassan.  Love him to death.  He's so damn funny.  Just getting my pain scripts and talked to him about the trip and what I might need.

I've got a bug man coming tomorrow so goodbye ants, finally!!  Also, need to pack as I leave Friday morning for North Carolina with the girls.  Can't wait for that.

Next week is a busy week with a lot of fun things happening, lunch with my old Principal from the middle school, pool girl party Wednesday- want to come?, etc.

Have I told you in the last 24 hours how much I love being retired?  I didn't think so.

Hump day!

I'm up fairly early today as I have an appointment with my pain guy at 9:45.  The sun is out but it's been sprinkling.

I dreamed Jackson dreams all night it seemed!  Off I go!

Gee

forgot to blog this morning..probably because I didn't even get up until 9am but it felt good.  Actually was up at 6 for dogs and then went back to bed, my fave thing to do nowadays. Tomorrow, I have a Dr's app't at 9:30 so can't linger in bed, darn it.

I'm afraid I could become a slug in my retirement.  When there is no schedule to follow, it's too easy to lay around in your bed clothes and do nothing!

Kind of strange weather today.  Radar showing storms all around us but we've only had some very quick rain showers, not storms at all.  I think they're all north of us.

I spent the better part of the day, watching the Michael Jackson coverage.  It actually was well done for being put together so quickly.  I definitely teared up a couple of times.  I thought Jennifer Hudson did wonderful, what a singer she is.  The Irish young boy was also a treat.  The end with the family did me in, especially when the little girl talked.  How hard this must all be for them.  They've never been raised around other kids, hidden behind masks when they went out, traveled the world and they're 7, 11 and 12.  Can't imagine what is in store for them now with their 89 year old grandmother.  I liked MJ, always did.  Did think he was a bit strange in these later years but also couldn't imagine that he never had a normal life, never.  He started at age 5 in show business and boom, that was it.  He wasn't normal but a genius of dance and song.  I think he constantly tried to redo his life so he had a childhood with the kind of things he did and how he surrounded himself with children.  I don't think he was a pedophile at all. I felt sorry for him and still do.  Sad life when you think of it all.  Loved his music and have had "Beat it" and "Billy Jean" on my music list forever. RIP Michael, wherever you are.

Lesson of the Day...

Let Max out BEFORE you go to the bathroom yourself.    Yes, I learned that as he couldn't hold it and peed on the lower level of my bazzil paper this morning...well, I didn't want that brown paper anyway, right?  Lesson learned.

Well, I got the "sorry" email this morning, letting me know that I did not win the Michael Jackson tickets.  I would have loved to get them for Jodi who lives out there but alas, it wasn't meant to me.

Last night, I watched the movie, "New in Town".  It was really cute and I think even Sophia, my Utah friend, would have approved of this one, lol!  Hard to believe people live in that climate where it was filmed, Winnipeg.  It gets 50 below in the winter there.  I learned this on the "extras" part of the DVD.

My cleaning lady is coming this morning so I need to get things ready for her...off I go and it's so nice not having to go to work!

Politics, not as usual....

Today on Facebook, a woman I follow and whom I know from scrapbooking and who lives out of state, had a political commentary about Obama.  Now she is a southern, conservative Christian, obviously, totally different than I, but I have other SCC friends and no problem.  Today though, some friend of hers came on and referred to Obama in an extremely racially offensive term.  I was really offended.  I know some people don't like Obama but hey, I disliked, intensely, GWB, so, different strokes for different folks.  But when someone comes on and uses the phrase this jerk did, it had nothing to do with being a conservative Christian, it had everything to do with being a racist.  What really bothered me was this woman friend of mine used LOL in regards to his statement and even though she later tried to change the subject, the damage was done in my book.  She is now deleted from my FB.

I can't stand racists, period and simple.  End of story.

So one friend less on FB but that's okay.  I feel better from having said and done something.  What I said was, "That was really horrible to say" and this man said, hey, it's the simple truth" and I said, "It's not simple or true".  I won't repeat what he said as it's low so don't ask me what he said.

They are all Fox news lovers and frankly, to me, that says it all.  Fox is about as conservative as you can get and the news is always so damn slanted on that network and look who their commentators are....gross.  Look at this one Fox youtube story where the person made reference to killing Obama..real class act.

So that's the Sunday story here at the Mitchell household.  Other than that, it's been a great day and NO WORK tomorrow!!

"mornin

I was up late last night, watching "The Reader".  Kate Winslet did a terrific job in the film though it was a dark and disturbing movie.  I went on a reading spree, back in the 80's, reading every Halocaust book I could find written by victims.  I had to know what happened and I read and read.  This film is about that period and about a woman who participated in that period.  I'm sure the book would be even better and give more insights into the characters.  At any rate, don't rent this movie unless you're prepared for a rather sad evening.  I'm glad I saw it though.  Fireworks went on and on last night in my neighborhood and some good ones too.  Poor Max was fit to be tied with all the noise.  It finally stopped a little past midnight.

I think my sister will be over today to go swimming as it should be another brutally hot day.  I need to do some laundry as well but other than that, the day is mine!

Flights are done...almost

Today, I spent about 3 hours making the flight arrangements for me, Barb and Jill since there was a problem with our other ones.  The problem was, when you go through Royal Caribbean, they like to tax on some extra costs...when I could go online and get our flight for $800 and something, they quote it for over $1000!  So the girls gave me their info and I went on and did it for us and saved us over $250 which included the flight insurance.  It was tricky as I had to go on 3 times and there were 4 legs of the trip and one of us was taking off from Ft. Myers and 2 of us from Tampa.  But I got it all done except for seat assignments for one leg.  For some reason, on the Barcelona to Atlanta flight, they wouldn't let me make a seat assignment.  I had to go through that horrid voicemail business and 30 min's later, talk to the international Delta people and they said on the weekend, you can't do the seat but I have to go online Monday to do it????  Of course, on that leg, there wasn't a whole lot of seats available so not sure we'll be sitting together but I'll be on early Monday morning and find out.

Jill and I will meet Barb in Atlanta and then take off so she won't have to come up here.  Jill is still flying down from NC to go with me.  Flying to Barcelona from Atlanta, I got us a 3some of seats, two of them on aisles and me in the middle causing trouble, lol.  The trip is really getting exciting now!  I saw some pictures of Santornini, Greece and got so excited. 207605719ZXYrcX_ph Can't believe we'll be there!!  I felt that way when I went to Austria and Switzerland as I never thought I'd go there either.  We even went, in '93, on a horse drawn buggy through the alps- what a trip!

So that is how I spent my afternoon.  And I have a huge sinus headache right now so want to get rid of it...need to get off here.  Hope your 4th has been a good one.

Happy Birthday America!!

Happy 4th of July, 2009!

Boy, we had fireworks last night, lots of them, some only a street over..Max was hiding most of the night!  He'll really be hiding tonight when they start going off.  They were some good ones too that some people bought.  I was watching "Benjamin Buttons" and had to keep stopping it to go outside and look at them.

I enjoyed the movie but it was sure long.  Real long.  Some spots really dragged out but overall, a good movie.

You know, for about 14 years, I was gone on the 4th every time as that was when the NEA annual convention was and I was always a delegate for the teacher's union.  The neat thing was, I got to see fireworks all over the country- Los Angeles, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Dallas, Miami, Orlando, New Orleans, Kansas City, Washington, Atlanta to name a few places.  The best ones were in D.C....sitting on the mall with the orchestra playing and the fireworks going off over the monuments.  Can't beat that.

Okay, off to drink some more coffee and get ready for the day.  Have a great 4th and hope the weather cooperates wherever you are!

Friday early eve....

So "you betcha" Sarah P is stepping down..wish I could say it would be the last we'd hear from her but I think not..supposedly, she's gearing up for a shot at the Presidency in 2012..what an idiot she is....you betcha.

Just got back from Target and ran into two friends there.  One is a woman I used to play bridge with many years ago, Dee Burkett and one was Polly Vi, pool girl herself and my old travel buddy.  She retired a couple years ago and started up a business that keeps her busy nowadays so we don't see much of each other.  It's so nice to know that the schedule is mine now and I can 'do lunch' even!

I also ran to the video store where I haven't been in awhile and got 4 movies...here they are..IMG_4150

I love to do movie marathons in the summer.  Have you seen any of them?

I also finally got this which I really needed...IMG_4149

I didn't notice until I got home that I picked up a decaf one- yuck...oh well, maybe somebody will drink it or maybe Linda will buy it from me for the crop, lol!  I was too busy talking when I grabbed these.  I ran out the other day and have been using the little attachment that goes in the Keurig when you use other coffees but it's not as good as my regular ones.

I stopped at MacD's on the way home and got another iced mocha which aren't bad.

It rained most of the morning and part of the afternoon but looks nice outside now.  I hope it's okay tomorrow for all the cook outs.  I'm laying low again and watching movies and swimming tomorrow I think.  Sounds good!

Okay, I'm off to get some things done before it's movie time...have a good eve!

Oh, I signed up online to get tickets to MJ's ceremony...if I win one and you live near there and want it- it's yours!  Email me.  You have to pick the ticket up Monday morning I heard and I don't think I'll be in Calif....then....

Good Morning!

The dogs got me up around 7 this morning so I got up, read my email, worked my farm, etc. and now am ready to go back to bed- one of my favorite things to do!

I'm actually going to read the paper first and have some breakfast.  It's sprinkling outside but don't think it will last as it's sunny.

Today, I have the pool store, Target and the DVD store to go to which I'll do later on.  Happy Friday all!

Independence Day is here!

for me!!  Can't believe I'm really the "R" word...seems very wierd.  When I pulled out of CFK today which is down on the south side by my parents old home, I was thinking how nice it would have been to go by and see them today and have a drink with them.  They would have really appreciated this day.  I can't say I'll never work again as I probably will, at some time, but I'll never be full-time again and if people ask me what I do, I will have to say, I'm retired.  Man that sounds old.  You know how people say, 60 is the "old 40" or whatever, well I'll have to give new meaning to the word retired too.  With the economy the way it is, you just never know what's going to happen so I'll be ready.  My certificate is still good until 2013!

I made a collage today of some of the pictures the kids took this week in the digital camera class and here it is...Collage

I'm going to print out a copy for the CFK Director and run it by there for him next week.

We were able to set off the rockets this morning thank goodness as the rain stopped but now that I'm home, it's thundering and sprinkling again.  I think we'll have this most of the weekend.  No plans for the 4th as Max does not like loud noises so I better stay home with him as you can always hear the fireworks from downtown on the 4th.

Tomorrow, sleeping in a bit, no more alarms.  Not sure what time I'll blog but it won't be real early I know!

My OFFICIAL last day of work!

It's actually here, July 2nd, last day!! I didn't know if I'd ever get to this point but I have.  Interesting things to come in the next chapter of my life...stay tuned!!

Pouring cats and dogs...

It was pouring when I left this morning, it poured all day and it was still pouring when I drove home.  Regardless, I just went out in it again as I didn't want to cook and had ordered take out from Carrabba's.  It was so delish...penne Franco and a mediterrean salad.  Plus I have enough for lunch tomorrow so won't have to go anywhere.

You know what tomorrow is don't you??  It's my OFFICIAL last day working in the Florida State Educational system.  When I leave there at 2:20, I'm done, for real.  Still hard for me to believe.  I was talking to one of the teachers there today who was setting up her room for the next year already.  She used to be at BPE and is now at the Fundamental school.  Her room looked great and I was kind of wistful for a minute thinking I'll never set up a room again.  I always enjoyed doing that and really missed it when I went to tech and just had an office.  I guess I feel too young to be retired yet but we'll see how it goes.

The kids were taking pics today with the digital cameras and did a good job.  One of their assignments was to use the macro setting and one of the kids took this...IMG_1032

I thought she did great with it.  One more day with it tomorrow.

Okay, gotta run...things to do!

P.S.  Was just watching the Michael Jackson special on Dateline and just wanted to say how much I can't stand Al Sharpton.

Stormin' Wednesday

Woke up to it raining and it's very dark and thundering so looks like another stay inside kind of day.  Unfortunately, I'm off to work to CFK again, two more days!

The kids won't be able to go outside and take pictures again today :(

Oh well, we'll make do.  Have a good one!

good morning...

the alarm woke me up this morning and I hate that...rude way to get up!  Probably because Max had me up at 4am so he could sniff outside!  We did go to bed early as I was pooped last night.  Then I woke up and it was hot and the AC had flipped off outside for some reason so had to go out and turn it back on.  It's cooling off now thank goodness.

Off for another day of College for Kids!  I also put up two projects for KNK using the cute July kit..a coupon clipboard..DSC08258

and this Hello card...DSC08260

Happy Monday!

Oops, forgot to blog this morning again!  But here I am, home from work and listening to some distant thunder.  I need to make a run to target for my coffee so hope the storm holds off.

We had our first day of digital cameras today at CFK and it went okay.  We really only have a 4 day week and one of the days they'll be setting off their rockets so not much time to really do the cameras.  After Thursday, I'm DONE! Finis!

Teri came this weekend to the crop and took some great pictures so I'll share some of hers for you..Me at crop  Yours truly, working away!  And here's one of Barb from Ft. Myers..Barb working

Linda always serves good food and here was Saturday night's dinner..Sat nite dinner

Don't you love the cupcake tree?

We had so much fun and now can't wait for the other big summer, weekend crop of hers in August called the Fried Green Tomato crop and yes, she really makes them for us!  It's being held back in the wonderful old hotel in Sebring and I'll be bunking in with Linda, Michele and Cathy with my blow up as they have the big suite.

In two weekends, I'll be taking off with the girls and flying up to Jill's house in North Carolina too- can't wait for that..and then there's CHA in Orlando and classes at Rubanrouge with Tim Holtz and Teresa Collins so full summer.

In the mail today, I got the long awaited kit from Carole Wingert- I truly love her creations.  In this one, we will actually make the book too..here's a pic of it..Wingert kit

I think I'll wait and keep it for the Fried Green Tomato Crop.  Just love it!  It's called the 'Glovely Garden book".

Okay, I need to get going here....off I go to Target!

fun time was had by all...

and can  you believe, I forgot my camera??  That has never happened before..I was so mad.  I changed purses and forgot to put it in, damn. I did take a pic of Sonia with my phone...2009-06-28 13.16.22  Anyway, another fab Hilltopmemories crop, this one was the 6th Birthday celebration!  Linda did her usual tremendous job of feeding the troops and no one ever goes hungry.  I got a lot done on my Europe album plus TWO layouts, a project and a card done with my KNK July kit!!  I have to take pics to show you all.

Teri surprised us and showed up yesterday and then spent the nite with Susie and Jayne at the Embassy Suites so that was so much fun seeing her.  We missed some of the regulars that couldn't make it like Jules, Jill, Roz, Kelcey and several others but still had a good group plus some newbies.

We also got a tour of one of the girls new georgous 40ft. 5th wheel that she and two others were staying in-wow!  The pop up worked great again for me and Linda, no problems there and the price was right!

Now I'm trying to talk Linda into having AARP rates for those of us r-e-t-i-r-e-d!!  I believe she's thinking about it!  Otherwise, crops might be not so plentiful now that a fixed income is in sight...ah, getting older is so much fun, lol!

Barb, Sonia GA, Kelly and Lisa came up from Ft. Myers area too so it was great to see them and Karen came up from the Lauderdale area.  Susie gave me a bead lesson and I made a glasses necklace-lots of fun .  She's really gotten into it and made some beautiful things.  She and Jayne had that long trip back to the panhandle and Alabama today. Even Alice showed up today to see everyone!

I'll see Jayne in July when she's down for teresa Collin's class.  Lots of things coming up this summer.

Sounds like a storm is coming in so better get off the computer for awhile...later.

Now I have 4 more days of CFK and I'm officially, really, RETIRED.  Can't wait!

Good Morning from Valrico!

I woke up to a hard rain drumming right over my head as I'm sleeping in Linda's pop up camper this weekend.  The bed is very comfortable and big and the AC works great so I was very cozy.  Unfortunately, I had to pee of course so jumped up and walked over, in the rain, to the clubhouse and found out it was 10am!!  We didn't go to bed until after 2am though so it felt great to sleep in.  The clubhouse is only a few yards away from the camper so nice and close.  It has nice showers too so we can get clean!  Some girls are staying in hotels, some in RV's and some on blow ups here on the floor as the room is big plus there is side rooms.

I had a wonderful massage by Kelly last night too!  Linda is cooking up a storm as always and we had yummy pancakes this morning.  I've been working on some things for KNK and also on my European album last nite and today.

Jane called and the pups are doing fine so I"m glad she's there this weekend overlooking things for me.

Woody just called to tell me he found a tarantula in his garage this morning.  He put it out in the garden away from Rock.

We just talked to Jill and she's happy as they found a house up in DC.  They were a block away from the White House so I told her to tell Obama I said Hey!

Okay, off I go as I'm on Jackie's laptop and she's so generous letting us using it for this, our email and to harvest our crops, lol!

Friday morning

Woke up to thunder this morning but it seems like the sun is trying to shine.  I hope so as the kids at CFK are setting up their homemade rockets today.  I still have packing of my crop stuff when I get home and then I'll be off to the weekend crop.

Looking forward to seeing the gang again!

Sad day for news...

Both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson are gone.  Farrah, was expected, as reports the last few days had said it was only a matter of time.  Michael, totally not expected...well, maybe not totally as I don't think he's really been healthy for years.  So, so talented and so many problems.  I wonder about his 3 kids and who will they go with now-nannies?  You wonder how they are, living with him and all his crazy ways all these years and maybe now they'll have a chance to be normal.  Who knows.  I first read about it on Twitter as I get the tweets from this place called "Wierd News".  When I first read it, I thought they were kidding.  Then I read he overdosed on sleeping pills but have not heard anything more about that, just cardiac arrest.  Poor lost soul, that's what I thought he was...never really meant for this world.  Maybe now he'll have peace.  I have many of his songs on my Itunes as I loved his music and his dancing.  No one did it better.  RIP Farrah and Michael..both way too soon.

The kids were not great today, some of them.  You can tell it's getting to be the end of the week.  Tomorrow, they set off their rockets so that'll be neat.  When I get home, I'll gather up my stuff and head off to the Hilltopmemories Birthday crop.  Can't wait to see everyone!

Busy Thursday!

I got up a little earlier this morning due to it being a busy day.  I've got work and then errands to run, packing for the weekend, grocery store, etc...We didn't get a drop of rain last night so hopefully today, we'll get some.  It did make it a tad cooler yesterday from the storm on Tuesday night.

Gotta run-

Evening..

Not much news to blog tonight.  I'm really pooped today, I think, from the sun.  We do go outside with the kids for a half hour and it's brutal.  The kids were "lively" today too so had to do a little "management" which always takes it out of you.

I really should go up to Target but not sure I'll make it tonight.  My last Fossil purse came today from my ebay sales!!  Really love it too... I ended up getting two kind of scrappy onesCross and I love the other one too.276050861_tp I think I have enough purses now for awhile!  But did get them for less than half their prices which was great.  Oh yeah, got this one too but it's used but I loved it...a classic...276078469_tp

Okay, that's it for tonight.

Bolt City!

Man, at 11:30pm a storm started last night and the lightning was terrific!!  Haven't seen that in a long time.  We got a really good rain too.  It only lasted an hour but it was good.  Should be more today.

I woke up with the alarm this morning which never happens usually so was tired.  Glad it's Wednesday, hump day, and off to work I go again.

No Rain yet....

but plenty over to the east of us.  In fact, the south part of Florida got drenched today but nary a drop here, so far.  Hope we get some soon as I'm having to fill up the pool everyday as the sun is just sucking it out!  I went in the pool tonight and it felt great even though the water was warm.  I was really hot and icky by the time I got home today.  The AC had been off at the school last night and they just turned it on at 7:30am this morning and man, was it hot for a couple of hours.

I was frustrated with their lab too as it's a mess.  It's a good thing the classes aren't big so we don't need a lot of laptops cuz it is one poor lab that needs a lot of help.  They do not have a tech person there, only the media specialist takes care of things and she's not very knowledgeable about computers.  It shows unfortunately but we'll make out for the next two weeks with constant updating, etc. and broken headphones to name a few things wrong.  The kids are good though, no complaints!

I over heard this conversation today between two girls, one that goes to my school.

"Mrs. Mitchell is retired now"

other girl, "Why?"

"Because she's old and that's what you do".

LOL!!!  Aren't they funny!!

Today I went to Wendy's and got the chicken salad which I love, so nice lunch.

I'm doing some laundry tonight as I'll be gone this weekend and need to get some things ready.  This weekend if the Hilltopmemories annual Birthday Crop which is always fun.  Jayne and Susie are coming down from the Panhandle for it too!

Okay, off to eat my dinner...

Good Morning

It's Tuesday!  Looks like another hot one here though there is chance of some thunderstorms today.  Hope we get them to cool it down a bit.  Off to work to CFK again.

Watched Jon and Kate last night and felt so sad for those 8 kids.  Man, I wouldn't want to be in her shoes!  I think Jon is going to try and have the life he thought he should have had when he was in his 20's...too late Jon and y ou have too many responsibilities now...should be interesting to see what happens.  Loved the crooked houses!

Off I go-
