I have been heavily into mixed media the past 2-3 years and have taken several classes both in person and online. Right now I have 3 canvases I'm working on and I thought I'd share them. Linda Jenkins gave me a ton of blank canvases for Christmas as part of our Secret Santa and so I have lots to play on!
The first one here is one where I used Dylusions sprays which I love.
Their vibrant colors are wonderful! I took a class with their designer from England, Dyan Reaverly, who was a hoot and learned so much. I love her journal that she came out with also. Here's one of my journal pages I'm working on too...
I have all her sprays and also have them in paint pens which really come in handy, for detailed coloring.
For you Hilltoppers, Linda carries the Dylusion sprays, wonderful stencils and the water pens. Dyan's stencils are a lot of fun!
My second canvas is one I'm working on in Christy Tomlinson's "She Art 3" online class. Her first two classes were so much fun and I'm really enjoying the new one which has all new techniques.
This canvas is a mixture of acrylic paints, tissue paper, scrap paper and stencils or stamps. We are going to make several backgrounds on which eventually we will be placing our She Art Girls. Here's one of my She Art Girls from the earlier class..
You can tell it's from my first class with her and very basic but I enjoyed making it and made several others, some of which I have sold which is nice.
My third canvas is one I made last night in Donna Downey's class at Whimsodoodle and it also involved acrylic paints and stencils but we painted with our fingers! It was quite a process and a fun one too...also, a WIP as I'm adding things to it...
I should have taken a picture of it "before" as you wouldn't have recognized it! We just went crazy with stencils and colors at first and then you did your flower stencil and then worked over the background which totally changed it. I really enjoyed the class as it was totally different than what I've done before. She had a pan pastel class too which I wish I could have taken. I have the pastels and have been playing with them for a year and took Donna's online class with them but yesterday's class did a beautiful "painting" with them.
So that's what I've been working on lately. Also, on the scrapping side, I'm making a baby album for a friend who is going to be a first time Grandmother!
Okay, back to work....plenty to play with.....
