dark and dreary....

Yowser....it got dark and dismal by 3 o'clock today...the rain came in and it just got yucky...I have the AC on so not quite like up north right now....how do those of you who live up north take the dreariness all winter?  I'd be so depressed....maybe I'm just used to sun but it's amazing how your mood changes when it gets like this...yuck...it's suppose to be around for a bit tomorrow too and then it will be nice again....

I took a pic outside when it turned but it doesn't look as dreary as it really was....it was REALLY sunny this morning so it changed quickly... I know some places have snow already and God love you, you can have it and the jackets and all that crap you always have to wear...I can't ever move up north, period.

I have a cranberrry pork roast in the crock pot and it's smelling good...been working on some cards too today and doing laundry....work tomorrow...oy vey...

It's actually sunny outside but look at the darn radar... all around us.....

Ahhh, last day of Vacay....

and it's been a great week- no complaints here!  Weather has been top notch too.  I'm waiting for our rain to come in today...79% chance...here's the radar and you can see it coming from the west.... it's sunny right now and a bit muggy so I'm sure the AC will be back on.

I had a great time with Lorrie and Caroline last night...Lorrie made us these wonderful cosmos and we sat out by the pool and yakked for a long time, then we went inside and watched the Kim Morgan birthday video which was a hoot!  I guess the next party up will be my retirement one and I get to be the guest this time!  Can't wait!

Talked to Woody and he's taking off from Arizona today and now headed to Atlanta afterall, lol!  He wants to be there for the SEC game next Saturday and to see my brother and nephew and SIL and then he says he'll be down here Sunday night.  He'll park his RV at his friend George's work place and he'll be towing his jeep so he'll have a car.  I told him I needed him to be here by the 13th so he could dog sit for me!!  That's the night of our annual stocking pal exchange with my pals and I'll spend the night up at Jules house.

Okay, off to read the news and see if they caught anymore of those idiots in India.

It's actually turned into a warm day but I have all the windows open and there's a nice breeze.  I've been in and out and getting some things down around here and it's been so nice.  At 3:30, the FSU/UF game is on so I'll watch it unless it's a slaughter....:(

Some of the pool girls should be over later to watch the DVD video of our party for Kim Morgan..the one where I dressed up as Julia Childs...it's suppose to be hysterical but I haven't seen it yet...Caroline's little boy was sick so I'm waiting to hear how he is first.

Cute pic of Barb and her "boy" Serg!  She and John are so wonderful..they had me over again last night for leftovers plus sent me home with a bunch of turkey and pie!  I had turkey for lunch now also, Friday and Saturday so I think I'm finally turkey'd out!

Also, I don't think I told you I won a kit from Corinne, a Dutch scrapper, and one who I love!  She asked us to write about a woman we love and who has made a difference in our lives and I sent her mine and now I get an "Ode to Women" kit!!  I can't wait to get it!

It's another georgous day here..look at the forecast for today and the week... even that rain looks good to me as we need it desperately.
Can't beat those temps though!

Yesterday, when Mary-mary, Jules and I stopped for coffee, over by a drainage hole was a bunch of wood storks and a roseate spoonbill!  I didn't have my camera as I left it at Barb's but Jules got a great photo of the spoonbill and his reflection... isn't that cool?  They're such neat birds..

Now I got a great photo I think, of Sergio, Barb's little pal, the other night....love the expression on his face... he's so darn cute!

Today is all mine...I need to hit Target and Publix and do things around the house so that's my plan as soon as I get movin' here.....Have a great day!

Here I am!

I got up at 5 this morning and was headed out by 5:45 up to Palm harbor to meet Jules at RubanRouge.  I stopped at Burger King when I was almost there, to get coffee and sausage biscuits for us and to go to the bathroom since I knew we had a long wait.  When I drove up, it was Jules and one other lady!!  Jules had brought two chairs for us so we sat, talked, drank and ate and just had some early morning fun since the store wasn't opening until 8am.  Mary-Mary showed up so she joined us too.  It ended up only being about 25 of us by the time they opened. 
Once in, I headed to the Quickutz aisle to get the manatee die for 75% off and Jules went to the Slice aisle to pick up the Noteworthy die chip for her and I.  By 8:30 I was done filling up my basket and we checked out and got our 50% off on everything except the die...big savings.
From talking to others there this morning, there wasn't really big crowds anywhere except Kohl's so people are definitely tightening their belts this season.
Mary-Mary, Jules and I headed to Krispy Kreme to have coffee and chat and then we headed to Joann's with our other coupons, at least Mary and I did.  I then stopped by Barb's where I left my camera last night and then got home and took a little nap.

That was my Black Friday.  I'm not going to Whimsodoodle as there's nothing that I really need.
Wanted to show you my bazzill rack...remember I bought this back at the RR garage sale?  I filled it up the other day and got it all organized which is nice.

Dinner at Barb and John's was wonderful last night...food was outstanding of course...turkey breast and whole turkey...(someone took some skin off of it.....) sweet potato casserole which I loved..

Dina and Josh made some mashed potatoes with sage and carmelized shallots and it was delicious!

Table was so pretty, as always.... we all just had a nice time eating and talking, especially, about old times, lol!

So hope your Thanksgiving was a good one too!  Now we have this nice long weekend still ahead too which I love!

Another crisp morning here so far but going up to high 60's later on, another perfect day!
I'll be headed over to Barb and John's later this afternoon, for the festivities which is always fun.
I want to wish all my friends, both close by and online, a very Happy Day.  I feel very fortunate to have so many friends and love you dearly!

Bella and Ed....

I read a good portion of book 3 but my attention is waning....I'm not sure I'll finish it....the writing is really amateurish now and getting to me....she seems to get mad over anything and I'm really tired of her swooning over him...I find his family a lot more interesting and Jacob needs to get over it...just my humble opinion of course....

While I was at Dr H, who is from Bangladesh and is a hoot believe it or not, anyway, while I was there, we were talking politics like we usually do and we're on the same page...he showed me a book on his desk and I laughed, SARAH PALIN!  I knew he didn't buy it but another Dr. gave it to him for his birthday, as a joke...we talked about her turkey interview and he kept saying, "I thought she was doing it as a joke because I couldn't believe she'd do that there!"....I agreed of course...he thinks she's an idiot and that Alaska should throw her out of office, lol...his father was a very wealthy Dr. and political figure in Bangladesh, who has since died so he's been in politics all his life over there.  Anyway, he has another Dr. there who's from Romania and who is studying for his boards here and he does the office work, typing up scripts, etc. and we've become friends too.  He came in while I was talking to Dr. H to tell us that a woman in the waiting area, which is huge by the way, was dressed all in Black and he knew she was from Syria.  He asked her why and she said her nephew who is only 26 was just killed over there for doing nothing, political message....and then Dr. H told us that over in Pakistan recently, a 9 year old girl was raped by 3 men.  Her family was ashamed and thought it was her fault so her father took her to the town center where they stoned her to death!!

.and here we sit, in our free democracy, getting ready to have Thanksgiving...I'm so glad I was born here, weren't you?

Updating....

I'm updating my "blogs I like to visit" list over on the right...had to take a few off as they weren't updating their blogs at all or hardly at all...hopefully, if they start back up, I'll put them back on...or new ones...if you have a blog you love, email it to me will you?  I always like to look at new ones!
