Barb's home....

Here she is, driving up with John, with the wheelchair in back. I got over there earlier so I could put the dogs out back and turn on the Xmas tree lights so she'd have a nice welcome home.  John had decorated everything for her. 

The ramp worked great and she got inside and John wheeled her through the kitchen into the bedroom which he has rearranged for her. 

He even had on pretty new sheets for her and she loved it.

We let the dogs in once she was in bed and it took them a minute and then they realized she was there and there were plenty of kisses.

Finally, they were happy she was home and so was she.

John went up to get her meds refilled and we just talked and caught up with all the hospital gossip.  He got back and brought us hot cuban sandwiches which hit the spot.

She took her meds and was ready for a nap.  

Welcome home Barb- we're so glad you're back!! 

Update...

Barb just called and they're bringing the wheel chair, etc. around to her now so they'll be leaving the hospital in about a 1/2 hour so I'll head on over to the house to meet them and get her all set up!  So glad she's coming home and hope this will be successful for her!

Happy Last Day of 2008!!

Hard to believe, it's here, the end of 2008.  It hasn't been a bad year so I can't really complain.  I had a lot of fun this year, mostly with my scrapping pals on all our journeys but 2009 will be the year of travel, God/Allah willing!

I'll have to go back and look over my blog to see the highlights..that's what's so great about a blog...instant journaling.  You can't beat it.

As for today, I'll go over to Barb's to help out a bit when she gets home, need to run by the store and pack up my scrapping stuff and bedding as I'm heading over to Linda's to spend the night and bring in the New Year with the girls again.  We had a good time doing it last year.  Her husband and son are off hunting so the house is ours.  Last year I took Mudgy with me as I didn't have Max yet but tonight Woody will stay here and watch over everyone.  Max freaks out with fireworks-or any loud noises so glad Woody will be here.

Late blogging...

I didn't leave the hospital tonight until about 7pm and then went to Target and Office Depot so just got home..didn't realize how late it was.

They are sending Barb home tomorrow so when I got there around 5, they were just wheeling her off for a ultrasound to make sure she had no blood clots, which she didn't.  I guess they do that to anyone who's been there for a long time and mostly immobile.  She said it hurt like hell when they did it too.  John and I were packing up her room as she had a lot of stuff after being there for two weeks.  He made a couple trips to the car and then took more home when he walked me out to my car bless his heart.  I hate those garages at night as they're pretty dark and he knew it. 

The hospital told him to be there tomorrow at 10:30 so I imagine she won't get out until after noon tomorrow.  He's going to call me so I can meet them at the house and help get her situated tomorrow.  She is nervous about it on one hand but also getting excited on the other as she's been away so long it seems.  They did get the ramp built today thanks to Kurt so that's in place thank goodness.

Target was pretty quiet tonight and I didn't see any big sales but picked up some cola for Woody and coffee for me.  Then I hit Office Depot to get my new 2009 planner as I'm fussy about which kind I like.  Found a good one I think so I'm happy.

Today was so pretty out...no AC on but it's on now.  I sat out on my new deck with all 3 dogs for a couple of hours and read Scarpetta.  Linda- I forgot I had ordered it from Amazon so it came in!  It's pretty good but not great.  I got some sun for sure though and feel it tonight.

So another day in paradise, on vacation, not bad, huh?

Good Morning...

It's actually a little bit on the cool side this morning so have the window open here by the computer and it's nice!
Woody got up early and let the dogs out for me and then he must have gone back to bed as everyone is asleep now and it's nice and quiet.  He's going out in another boat adventure today so I'll have the afternoon to myself.

We were watching the Dog Whisperer last night on TV and Rock really got into it,lol, as you can see here... I should send this picture to the show!

Monday eve....

Nice day today though I didn't accomplish a whole lot but that's okay..some days you just need to do a little.  I did do some more organizing of scrap stuff and vacummed up MORE feathers but still have more to do.

My sis came by and went with me down to the hospital to see Barb so that was fun.  We had a nice visit with her and with Maggie who was also there seeing her.

Here's Annie and Barb...we got there just in time for another DELICIOUS hospital dinner! I swear, they had meat loaf again and green beans...they just had that 3 or 4 days ago...

I gave Barb her Christmas present which we had talked about as I wanted to be sure she wanted it.  She really loved it and we set her up right away with her laptop and it worked perfectly!  These wonderful tables come from Walgreens of all places.  They have flexible stands that are adjustable and the best part is the top part can be set on about 4 different angles.  For someone like Barb who can't sit all the way up, it's perfect.  It has an edge to it too which catches the laptop or book so it's not sliding into your stomach.  Plus it has a flat side for other things.  We especially like the legs as they go out at an angle so are very comfortable.  I ended up going back and getting myself one!  We put her laptop on it and she was all set.

They are actually talking about possibly sending her home on Wednesday which scares everyone...John will be frantically putting in a ramp with Kurt tomorrow so they can get her in the front door as it's up 3 steps.  It's not definite but we'll see...seems awful soon to me considering what she can't do still...I'm just wondering if the health care system wants to clean house at the end of the year...wouldn't put it past them.

Barb's poor roomie has been in the hospital 5 months!!  Can you imagine?  She's only 41 and was the driver in the accident and had her whole family with her but she was the only one hurt.  She is paralyzed from the waist down and still has major trach problems so has to be sunctioned frequently.

Okay, enough hospital talk for tonight...just ran to Publix and now have some lasagne in the oven...so nice of Stouffer's to make it for us! 

Tomorrow?  Another FREE day, YAyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!

boy o boy...

I have sure become lax in the blogging department lately....too much free time and be lazy..though I've been on facebook a lot...very addictive.

Woody is off fishing today, YAYYYYYYYYYYYY, so I have the house back to myself which I love of course.  He just called and he's having fun out in George's boat but they haven't caught anything yet he said.  The temps are in the 70's for sure, high 70's, so warm and the AC is on of course.

I just finished cleaning some rug areas...man that room needs to be shampooed big time..maybe I can talk Woody into doing it one day while I'm at work.
I'm heading up to the hospital at 4 to see Barb today also. 
Okay, back to work and off this laptop!

I was off at Walmart of all places..first time in about 2 years as I usually hate the place...got a storage bin and some other odds and ends and Woody got a fishing license as he's going out on a boat tomorrow.  Then we ended up going by the RV for some things like my missing Mama Mia DVD that I just bought and then went to Hooters for dinner.  Man, I love their wings!!  Now I'm totally stuffed...

Did get a chance to talk to Barb today and she sounded good.  Today is her and John's Anniversary so he was bringing to the hospital a dinner for them from Harvey's-isn't that cute!
Also talked to Linda for a bit and made some plans for this week.
SO excited that I have this week off!!

late blogging...

 I've been putzing around and my back is giving me fits so I'm moving slowly today.  I did end up doing feather duty last night for quite awhile and still have a lot of organizing to do today.

It's so nice that it's Sunday and no work tomorrow! 

Woody is off with Rock so it's just the 3 of us for awhile and it's nice and quiet, lol!

I took some photos of the guys eating last night...guess which one is a slob when he eats? Of course, my guys have good manners!!

Okay, I need to get moving here and do something...or maybe not...we'll see how it goes today...

oh boy....

how could one small pillow have so many feathers? Sweet Michele cleaned up the main mess and I attempted to get the rest of it this afternoon and I'm still not finished...they went into a lot of scrapping stuff and all containers, etc.....I'm at this point right now so you can see I have a long ways to go... 

I have to empty all those boxes, etc. that were open as they now have feathers in them...

now the "up" side...I found 2 Christmas presents that I had been looking for..one for my sister and 1 of Diana's!  Amazing what you find in bags that you forget to look into for awhile...

This was suppose to be my 'give my back a rest day' but it didn't work out like that...maybe tomorrow...lol~ 

oh, and for my friends up north, here's our weekly forecast....I wanted some cooler temps and you want warmer...go figure..
