Michele and Jayne are here and we just had a scrumptious dinner I made, lol!  Jayne is scrapping and Michele and I are talking and laughing and watching funny TV...we're going to eat at Skyway Jack's for breakfast tomorrow morning on the way to
Ruban Rouge for Teresa's classes- can't wait!

Yay, Jayne's flying in today from the panhandle, for the weekend and to go to Teresa Collins' classes tomorrow.  Will be great to see her.  She gets in around 2:30 so I'll bop over to the airport and get her then.  We plan on scrapping tonight and I already have Linda's big table up (Linda, did you remember I have one of your tables?).  I have several things to work on too.  We'll take an occasional dip in the pool too if it's not storming.

I was beat yesterday and my back is still a mess so I laid low all day, napping a lot but I still slept last night so must have been really tired.

I need to go clean off some of my junk from her bed so need to get movin' here..here's some more pictures from CHA...

As you can see, there were some beautiful new things out for sure.

On another note, I have my phones turned off today.  I need just a day of peace and quiet and will turn them back on tomorrow.  If emergency, you can email or text me.  I'm really exhausted and I think a lot of it is just spent emotional energy.  Everyone needs a recoup day here and there and I declare mine today. 

Holy crap!

This is a reason to continue buying good quality tires....I just got home from Bob Lee's and the guy got into Flo and right away knew what was wrong...I had a front tire splitting!!!  Now mind you, I noticed the shaking the minute I left the house in Orlando, drove for 1 1/2 hrs in a storm on the interstate, on this splitting tire!! And then drove to Bob Lee's today and it still hadn't blown thank goodness.  I have bought new tires a lot this past year and now this was the one old one I had the mechanic said so I now have 4 new ones.  I consider myself very lucky indeed.  It could have ended much worse for sure.  I was really freakin' out as I have to pick up Jayne tomorrow from the airport and then we drive up to Palm Harbor on Saturday so a car was a must.  I almost went and rented one but glad I didn't now. 

All is well again.  Thank goodness.  $125.00 well spent.

back home...

It felt so good to get back in my own bed last night.  Sweet Michele had even made the bed for me!  She took wonderful care of the "boys" while I was gone too- Max is definitely in love with her, lol.

Driving home last evening, my car started shaking and by the time I got home (I had stopped to check to make sure it wasn't a tire), at low speeds, it was really shaking.  I need to somehow get it fixed today as I pick up Jayne tomorrow from the airport and we have Teresa Collins' classes on Saturday.

Interesting week at CHA, I learned a lot, especially about a fair weather friend, far more than I needed to....

Tuesday eve blogging

I'm up at the clubhouse again blogging while the girls are scattered here and there.

Today was the first day of the show and it was rather disappointing in that it's 1/3 the size of last summer in Chicago.  A Lot of companies are not here.  Roz, Kelcey and I got over to the hall about 10:30ish and went our separate ways looking at things.  I got held up at a Aussie company's booth doing a mini album but then Jules came by and told me I had just won a pink Slice!!  That was cool except, listen to this, I have to wait til mid Sept. to get mine, meanwhile, they called ticket numbers later on and handed out 6 pink slice to people to take today????  They did give me the new Spooky slice card though today which is very cool so not really complaining.

Kelcey found a cool new company out of Canada which I want to look at tomorrow. Lots of new things out though and I took a bunch of pictures to show you when I get home. 

I did see Margie and her darling daughters and talked to them awhile.  They are going to hit Disney while they're here which they'll have plenty of time to do with this show being so small.

I didn't really see Pam or Jules all day except for a minute here or there but she did pick up my kit from the class this morning which she said was very disappointing which I'll tell you about later.

Chris flies in tonight so we're anxious to see her.  Tomorrow I'll do the rest of the booths and then tomorrow night is Team Night and Gerri Anne has some fun things in store.

No rain today which was good plus they had the shuttle running thank goodness so the walking was cut in half...my back is happier.

Monday blog in...

Jules, Pam, Sonia and I are up here at the clubhouse where there is free wifi, so we could do some computer stuff.  I can read the emails and facebook on my phone but hard to blog!

Today was a quiet day..we went into the convention center after hiking about 3 miles in from the parking lot.  Sonia and I had a Hero Arts class and I was disappointed in it.  Jennifer McGuire led it and she's very talented but the cards we did and 1 LO were pretty lame in my opinion.  We did get some nice Xmas stamps though so guess it was worth it for that.  Jules had the Simply Studio class with Claudine H. and she got a lot of nice product.  Kath is the one who made out like a bandit though with Tim's class.   

They made a darling mini album and got tons of stuff in the class.  We left there and went to Friendly's for a good lunch and then headed back to the house.  I swam in the pool for a bit and then took a nap.  Jules and Pam got in later and then some of the girls had a class this evening and went back to the conv. center for it.  Gerri Anne gets in late tonight as she had to work today.  We'll all be glad to see her.

Jill never made it afterall as Tink had some other problems and we miss her too.

Tomorrow is the official opening day and a 7am class that I'm pretty sure I won't make, lol!

Having a good time though and our house is really nice.  I'll try and check in tomorrow.

Little change in plans..

Jill called from NC and Tink, her pup, had a diabetic seizure this morning so she's not flying in today.  She'll take Tink to the vet's tomorrow and if she's okay, leave her with the vet while she is down here.  I know how important Tink is to Jill so totally understand.

I'm waiting for Michele to come over about 3ish and after I go over things with her and give her the key, I'll take off for Orlando and the house where I'll meet up with Sonia, Roz and Kelcey.  We'll go out to dinner tonight and then relax in the great house Sonia found for us! 

I have a CHA class at 10:30am tomorrow so will head to the convention center early to register and get my badge.  Jules and Pam get in tomorrow too and Gerri anne gets in late Monday night.  Chris comes Tuesday so we'll have a fun group and a lot of the design team there.  We all leave at different times and days and poor Sonia is having to keep it all straight but doing a bang up job of it.  The house is in a gated community so they had to have all our names given to them early so we can get in.

Barbara called me from Ft. Myers to tell me that after I left yesterday, my ticket got pulled and I won a big package of the new Tim HOltz masks plus some other things of his!!!  So excited!  She was holding my ticket for me and when she told the girls, it was mine, not hers, they said they wouldn't tell, the boogers!!  Gerri Anne is bringing it with her.  I'm taking my basic scrap supplies to work on some things if I have time too.

So, gotta take a shower and get finished here.  Until later!

Sunday, Funday...

I'm up and my back is KILLING me but, I will survive!  After yesterday and sitting so long, I'm not surprised and then today, 2 hour car ride so I should be in fine shape by tonight!

I found out that the house we're staying in, has only dial up, so you won't be hearing from me, lol, unless I find some internet at CHA.  I'll be back on Thursday.  Michele is coming over early so I can go over a few things and then I'm off to pick up Jill and head over to the land of Disneyworld.  I'll be sure to take a of pictures though!

Love Tim Holtz!

We all love his products and what he does with them!  Had a great time today at his two classes at Ruban rouge.  By the time I got home though, I was almost in tears for a bit as my back hurt so damn much.  Took a couple of pills and went in the pool and just relaxed and now it feels better.  Lisa had set up the room with different tables and metal chairs today to fit more people in for his classes and I don't blame her but man, those chairs were killers for 7 hours.  She usually has these nice, big comfy chairs in there but they do take up a lot of room.  Here's the gang today..

Front to back is Diana, Mary, Linda, Kathy, Michele, all of them from Tampa; Roz, me, Barb, Kelcey and Gerri Anne.  Roz and Kelcey came over from the other coast and Barb and Gerri Anne came up from Ft. Myers. We had the back table which was nice to all be together though it got very hot in the afternoon so Lisa brought us some fans thank goodness.  You know when you come in to Tim's classes, you don't need to bring one thing..he has everything for you..

Our first class was one where we made 5 different pieces of jewelry- all so cool.

I forgot to flip some of the pieces over so you could see them.  Of course, we made everything except the charms and the glass bottle.  He has us using the daubbers, ink, distress stickles, you name it, we did it.  Using all his tools too of course which are all wonderful.  Just a fun class that lasted 3 hours.  For lunch, we ran over to the Italian place and got a quick bite as we only had an hour.  Did get to see Robyn who had driven all the way in from Georgia with her two friends, for the 6:00pm Tim class!!  So glad I got to see her.  She has the most beautiful complexion!  Also, we got to see Jules and Pam who stopped by.. Pam had just flown in from up north for CHA.  She and Jules will come over on Monday.  She liked our "sun" she said...lol, she'll get plenty of that!

The second class was this....this is Tim's piece, not mine..

Again, using all his products and what fun it was.  I still have to put on the embellishments on mine and then it will be finished.  We also got the directions, in color, for making the rose but he actually gave us all a rose to have today too!  Of course, it's all made out of grunge materials which we love.  That class was 4 hours but I ducked out about 30 min's early as my back just couldn't take it anymore.  Barb, from Ft Myers, was dying too with her back and she has a long ride back home tonight.

I think this was my 7th Tim Holtz class.  I've taken his classes at CKU's, CHA's and at RR last year.  Always a great class and he's a super teacher with excellent directions and like I said before, so organized.  Mario is a huge help also during classes, setting things up and running around replenishing everything.

Oh, he also had t-shirts and cloth bags for sale so of course, I had to get one of each. He'll be at CHA showing new products next week too.

Little Amy came by and let the dogs out for me today- Thanks Amy!!  Now I'm going to rest tonight as big day tomorrow.  Picking up Jill at airport and taking off for Orlando in the afternoon after meeting with Michele who's staying here with the boys.  Fun week ahead!
