Teresa and I went up to Dunedin, about 45 min's away, to Rainbow's End, a quilt store. I had never been there before but Teresa had many times. It is almost too much to look at- total explosion of color and prints but so fabulous. They have a little of everything
The web site has a cool slideshow with tons of pic's of the store so you can see what I mean!
The people there are very nice and I had a good time talking to them. One of the owners asked me if I go to Posh Scraps as she saw my "I Scrap" shirt I was wearing but I told her I was in St. Pete so went to Whimsodoodle which she knew about too so maybe she scraps too!
They have some cool classes there too which I might take later on, especially one where they made a cool purse. They also had an arty type collage on the wall which she says is a class too. Teresa said they reminded her of my canvases.
You really have to have time to spend when you go there as there's so much to see.
Teresa found this cool material...
and we both ended up buying it. I'm going to make a chair cover I think, for crops..just the part over the top of a chair. That should be easy to make. I also picked out some cool ribbon...
I love that polka dot ruffly one and they had that in all kinds of colors but it's expensive so I only got 1 yard. The store is not cheap that's for sure. You can spend some money there. I found this one ribbon I love but it was $15.00 a yard!!! I actually have a ton of lace so didn't really spend time looking at that. I get a lot of my lace and trim from the online store, A Million Memories usually. They have great prices and a great selection too.
I also picked up a cool flower template at RE to use on my canvases and that was very reasonably priced ($2.50) Another purchase was a cool tool for making yoyo's, those popular flowers you see everywhere. I've actually made some from scratch but this looked a lot easier!
They have a whole room that is nothing but Christmas related things and Wow is all I can say. I'm suppose to bring 12 Christmas tags to the Texas crop in November and I found the cutest thing to use on them but I'm not going to show you yet.
Hanging from the ceiling in the store was about 20 or so purses- all kinds and all fabulous, made by a lady in Palm Harbor. I fell in love with one style in particular and Teresa, bought the directions for it and is going to make me this purse....someday, lol. She has a "few" projects she's already working on now that are ahead of my order.
It was a fun way to spend the afternoon. We also went to lunch at a restaurant there in Dunedin and I had the soup and sandwich which were both excellent. They are having a Christmas Open House on Sunday so if you're in that area, stop by!
