Our trip was fantabulous!! A dream come true! I loved, loved, Alaska and Victoria and hope to go back someday. A whole different world for sure. Sunset past 10pm and sunrise at 3 in the morning! Believe it or not, you got used to it. The weather could not have been better for us, both in Seattle and the whole trip. We had about 3 min's of rain in Juneau and that was it!! Even our first 3 days in Seattle was sunny! The only bad weather we had was our first night and day on the ship when we entered the Atlantic...8 foot swells! I had taken a Bomine and was perfectly fine and so was Barb. Linda and GA- sick as dogs like most of the ship... but after that first day, they were fine and we had smooth sailing.
For the first time, I love the pic of us all getting on the ship and we didn't even plan on coordinating everything but it turned out great!
We had just spent 2 1/2 days in Seattle and had a ball there. Other then a "little" problem of two of us getting there, lol. Long story but most of you heard it on facebook but Barb and Linda ended up coming about 12 hours late due to some missed planes! Our hotel, the Warwich, was wonderful. We had the space needle right outside our room off our balcony!
We never did make it to the top of that as we were planning on going the day we got back to Seattle but it was raining that last day and we were all tired. We did get down to the wonderful Pike's market though and had a ball wandering all around. It was especially nice as Linda's daughter, Kim, came up from Portland for the day too.
The market was so cool....flowers galore and so cheap...
We all bought some very tasty jellies and some fruit and odds and ends and watched them throw the fish!
The king crab claws were going for $38.00 a pound.
We even found the disgusting, but famous Gum Wall!!
It is true, there is a Starbuck's on almost every corner too! We never did go to the oldest one though but found several others where we rested...
We had breakfast at Lola's which was so good and right around from our hotel...
Gerri Anne and I feasted on this unique pizza the night before that was beyond good...
It was called Serious Pie and it was!!
Here's a pic of 3 of them going through security on that Wednesday...this was just before we lost Linda and Barbara!
Barb and GA had come up the night before to spend the night and GA immediately bonded with the dogs, especially Rosie...
All in all, we had a great time in Seattle and were eagerly awaiting our trip to Alaska. I'll stop now as this is getting long and pick up here next time around!
Maybe someone from out there can tell us what this popsicle was for??? No one we asked seemed to know...
